Helen Banks

Helen has worked as a theatre nurse and a college teacher. She lives with pain.

Helen watched one of Flippin’ Pain’s talks, which is where she had her ‘lightbulb moment’. After watching, she wanted to know more and get involved, so Helen joined us at some of our Lincolnshire events in 2021, where she felt less alone and learnt more and more each time.

Inspired by the things she learnt, Helen eventually felt ready to taper off some of the opiate medication she was on. She now shares her experiences at local Flippin’ Pain events, hoping that the people she meets doesn’t have to go through some of the things she has.

In her spare time, Helen loves having a go at almost anything crafty, especially crochet and wood turning. She also loves spending time with her grown up children and young grandchildren.
